HansenMillennium — An Icon of Danish History. In 1899 a young blacksmith named Hans Sørensen Hansen moved to the tiny village of Lem, Denmark, and ten years later started his own smithy which became the origins of the first steel window company in Denmark, Vestas.

HM HISTORY (con‘t): A decade later, given the growing demand for steel windows, Mr. Hansen and his two sons founded a new steel window factory called DSI. Then in 1959, the Hansen family started producing the first aluminum doors, windows and façades in Denmark.
